Here you can see how we removed the glued-down engineered hardwood and how we installed 2 1/4" Red Oak Unfinished Solid Hardwood.

After the installation was completed, we started to sand the newly installed unfinished hardwood.

We also water poped because it re-opens the wood's grain structure (especially the hard grain) to allow for a deeper saturation of color.

Once it dried, we applied the Warm Grey stain color.

Finally, we applied 3 coats of Bona Traffic HD polyurethane with a Matte finish.
